Thanks to the recommendation of a thoughtful UKC judge, we found this recipe to add calories and nutrition when our dogs need to put
on a little weight or before and during dog shows. It also makes a great training treat
and keeps their coats beautiful! We divide the batch into small patties and
freeze the extras.
Satin Balls for Little Dogs
1 lb hamburger (80% lean recommended)
1 and 1/3 cups Total cereal
1 and 1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 raw egg
6 Tablespoons wheat germ
1 package Knox unflavored gelatin
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil (use high quality grapeseed or olive oil)
2 Tablespoons unsulphered molasses
Pinch of salt
